Here’s your chance to pick up a very nice German Cross in Gold by Zimmerman. Known to souvenir hungry GI’s as “Hitler’s fried egg” and highly sought after. The German Cross was instituted by Adolf Hitler on 28 September 1941. The Gold class was awarded for repeated acts of bravery or achievement in combat. This is a lightweight example that is nicely stamped “20” on the underside of the reverse pin. Has the correct die flaw at the 10 O’clock position. This piece is loaded with patina and just the right amount of wear. A textbook example with great character.
