Here is your chance to pick up a lovely State Forestry Official belt buckle. This is an early brass buckle that was produced in brass with gold finish. This is not an easy example to find and would be a great belt buckle for your collection. Forestry and hunting in Germany enjoys a long history, and in 1933 Hermann Göring was appointed as “Reichsforst und Jägermeister” (National-forestry and Hunting Master). He was in charge of the National Forestry Department and its military-like members. Forestry officials during Nazi Germany had very similar duties to modern forestry services. This service was in charge of taking care of and maintaining forests and protected spaces. Officials were similar to a forest security force.
