Description

Here is your chance to pick up a nice example of a SA dagger which was manufactured by the firm Rich & E. Hartkopf from Solingen. The blade is great condition and still retains most of the original crossgrain with minor runner marks from the scabbard. The crossguards are produced in solid nickel. Reverse of the lower crossguard is gruppe marked Nm for Nordmark. Also marked B/16 with “Most” lightly carved to the left of the B. Lower crossguard and scabbard and both numbered 22261. Very possible this example can further be researched and can be connected with a name. Early style anodized scabbard with “Most” carved into the upper scabbard fitting. Looks like one screw on the scabbard has been turned a long time ago and one is possibly replaced. Complete with a period hanger. All parts have matching patina. Super tight fitting grip with a lovely dark cherry tone wood grain. Rated as an 8 on the McSaar list. A excellent example to add to your collection! Click HERE to view more images of this item! The Sturmabteilung was the Nazi Party’s original paramilitary wing. It played a significant role in Adolf Hitler’s rise to power in the 1920s and 1930s. Its primary purposes were providing protection for Nazi rallies and assemblies, disrupting the meetings of opposing parties, fighting against the paramilitary units of the opposing parties, especially the Rotfrontkämpferbund of the Communist Party of Germany, and intimidating Romani, trade unionists, and, especially, Jews. The SA were also called the Brownshirts, from the color of their uniform shirts. Brown-colored shirts were chosen as the SA uniform because a large number of them were cheaply available after World War I, having originally been ordered during the war for colonial troops posted to Germany’s former African colonies. After The Night of the Long Knives in 1934, Hitler withdrew support from the SA. The SA continued to exist, but was effectively superseded by the SS, although the paramilitary forces were not formally dissolved until after Nazi Germany’s final capitulation to the Allies in 1945.   Free shipping ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD & I don’t charge PayPal fees like some of the other guys!
