Description

A fantastic example of a Deschler marked SS FM donation membership pin. Correct pin plate and numbered reverse with excellent enamel. Minor silver finish loss with a nice darker patina. Förderndes Mitglied der SS (SS-FM; SS Patron Members): A membership pin for individuals who did not join the SS for active duty but instead contributed to it financially. The SS-FM was organized by the SS Wirtschafts-und Verwaltungshauptamt (SS Economic and Administrative Department) in 1926. Members made monthly payments towards the work of the SS at their local SS headquarters. Each member was issued with a lapel pin and a membership/receipt book. From April 1934, members also received a monthly magazine, the FM-Zeitschrift. By 1939, circulation was approximately 365,000, but very few copies of this magazine survive today.
