A lovely Luftwaffe bomber clasp in bronze. Issued to both transport and glider squadron aircrew.  Unlike other combat flight clasps, the central device contains a swastika and it is not placed onto the wreath of the clasp itself. This is an early tombak style clasp that’s absolutely priced right. While unmarked, this piece exhibits specific traits associated to the Juncker firm of Berlin. This piece has a small stress-fracture to the reverse wreath area as can be seen in the photos and this flaw cannot be seen from the front of the badge. A total of 43 transport pilots were honored with the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross during the war. To recognize the type and number of operational flights undertaken by aircrew and certain other Luftwaffe personnel, the Front Flight Clasp series was progressively introduced from January 1941. Various styles of clasps for various duties were issued.Free shipping ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD & I don’t charge PayPal fees like some of the other guys!
