Description

Here is your chance to pick up an original honor pokal named to Lieutenant Holm who was an aerial observer for pilot, Otto Heß. Both Holm and Heß were presented an Ehrenpreis after their first aerial combat victory which occurred on July 18th 1918 and wasn’t confirmed until November 21st 1918. This piece (and others from a recent collection I acquired) was examined in hand by Carsten Baldes at the 2020 OVMS Show of Shows and was nice enough to tell me I had the best stuff of the entire show. The first Honor Prize for Naval Fliers were awarded following January 20th, 1917. Pilots and Observers would be eligible if they have shot down an enemy aircraft, or damaged it enough to where it was captured, or sank or damaged an enemy warship to where it was abandoned or captured. Less than 130 of these were presented before the end of the First World War which makes surviving pieces exceptionally rare. Please see the external link below for more photos of this monumentally exceptional piece of aviation history. Investment grade. CLICK HERE to view more images of this item!
