Description
Here is your chance to pick up a nice Kriegsmarine E-boat badge. This example is produced by Schwerin of Berlin. A first pattern example produced in tombak with the correct rear die flaw. This particular piece shows old traces of crusted polishing cream in the depressions and crevasses of the obverse. Considering the amount of natural patina to the piece, it is safe to assume that the original owner polished the piece and it was period done. I believe the catch may have been replaced and this appears to be a very old repair. A nice and bright example that photos can’t do justice. This piece is a consignment item and is subject to the terms listed on the website. Guaranteed original. The E-boat Badge was first instituted on May 30, 1941 and was designed by Wilhelm Ernst Peekhaus of Berlin. In 1941, the E-Boat offensive was stepped up and until that time E-Boat crews had received the same badge as the Destroyers.
