Description

Here is your chance to pick up a wonderful grouping to a Panzer Pioneer-Batallion 27 soldier Johann Friedburg. Friedburg was awarded the Close Combat Clasp in gold personally by Adolf Hitler. Included in the grouping are his documents for the Wound Badge in Black, General Assault Badge, the Iron Cross 1st and 2nd class, and the Close Combat Clasp in Silver and Gold. The document for his silver clasp is dated after his gold document, likely from the officer playing catch up with paperwork. The date in which Friedburg was awarded the gold clasp indicates he was issued a 1st pattern clasp and was presented the award in person from Adolf Hitler. There is no document for a bronze Close Combat Clasp likely because by this point Friedburg has just skipped over the award entirely. Included as well is over 35 pages of research pertaining to Friedburg and the awarding of his close combat clasp in gold. There is also an additional 38 pages of maps, which follow Friedburg’s Panzer Pioneer-Batallion 27’s retreat on the Eastern Front. A stunning grouping considering the Close Combat Clasp in Gold was only awarded 631 times during the wa; not to mention this example is personally awarded by Hitler himself!Click HERE to view more images of this grouping! This piece is a consignment item and is subject to the terms listed on the website.
