This M35 was a 1940 reissue with M40 type liner and 1940 dated chin strap. Liner is still supple and chin strap is strong. NAMED. Shell is stamped SE64 with a rear flange lot stamping number of 968 which is a known database lot number for a Kriegsmarine single decal M35 reissue helmet by this maker and size. Rare example in original bring back condition and first time on the collectible market! Untouched split pins complete with their corresponding washers and right as rain. This is a very rare and highly sought after lid. The Kriegsmarine maintained a large ground force, organized along the same lines as the German Army, which was known as the Marine-Infanterie. Kriegsmarine naval artillery and anti-aircraft crews were considered as shore personnel. Artillery units were organized into either regiments or sections while flak units were maintained in brigades and regiments. Both types of units were assigned to various ports and harbors and thus were under the direct operational authority of both the port commanders as well as the commander harbor security forces.
