The piece is extremely detailed and much harder to find the miniature than the full size, which is rare enough as is. The Mine Rescue Medal was instituted by Adolf Hitler on January 30th, 1938. It was awarded to members of the Mine Rescue Service who performed outstanding rescue work, individuals who risked their lives to save others in the case of a mine disaster, and those with long service in the Mine Rescue Service.
