Here’s your chance to pick up a very rare badge for a NSFK Balloon Pilot. This piece is constructed out of die struck zinc. The reverse is marked “231240 ” and the piece is void of any repairs whatsoever. This is a fantastic and rare historical treasure that would make a perfect addition to any Third Reich collection. This award was instituted on the 10th March 1938 by NSFK-Korpsführer General der Flieger Christiansen and was to supersede the DLV form. It was awarded to licensed hot air balloon pilots and was worn on the left breast pocket of the NSFK or Luftwaffe uniform. The National Socialist Flyers Corps (NSFK), was a paramilitary organization of the Nazi Party that was founded in 1937 and conducted military aviation training in gliders and private airplanes. When Nazi Germany formed the Luftwaffe, many NSFK members transferred.
