This example is almost flawless with perfect enamel and nice silver patina. 900 silver marked on the reverse pin and marked 21 for the producer Godet. A textbook example with great character. The Order of Merit of the German Eagle was an award given predominantly to foreign diplomats. The Order was instituted on 1 May 1937 by Adolf Hitler. Foreign diplomats, as well as those working in the diplomatic system were eligible for this award. There were a total of 9 different grades of this award issued during the Third Reich.
