Here is your chance to pick up a nice example for your collection. This Panzer Assault Badge in bronze retains a fair amount of it’s original finish and looks absolutely fantastic on display. Marked RK on the reverse for Rudolf Karneth. Produced in zinc. A nice and bright example that photos can’t do justice. This and several other items listed for sale were purchased directly from the son of the US Veteran that brought these back from the war. The Veteran’s name was Adolf Bach and he was part of the 79th Infantry. The Wehrmacht Tank Battle badge was introduced on December 20, 1939, in order to recognize the achievements of Panzer personnel who took part in armored assaults. It was designed by Ernst Peekhaus of Berlin, and was instituted by order of Generaloberst von Brauchitsh. On June 6th, 1940, a separate class of the badge, in Bronze, was added in order to recognize the crews of armored vehicles other than tanks (half tracks, assault guns, etc).
