This is the small version (type C) in silvered tombak for women, and measures 27.27mm (width) x 27.83mm (height) The reverse is maker marked FR. KLETT, KARLSRUHE. The badge was instituted in 1933 by the Gauleiter of Gau Baden, Robert Wagner, to commemorative the tenth anniversary of the NSDAP in Baden, Germany. This badge was instituted in both male and female classes with this particular version awarded to female members of the party. The Gold version award was for those members who had joined the party from 1923 to 1925 and the Silver was for those members from 1926 until 27 October 1929. The recipients must have been resident in the Baden region with an unbroken membership in the NSDAP.A Gau Commemorate Badge (Gau-Ehrenzeichen) were a political award of the Nazi Party, issued by various Gauleiters of the Nazi political districts to recognize loyal service or to commemorate an event. A Gau of Nazi Germany, which was a geographical region parallel to the traditional German states. The Gau badges were considered Party awards, but were not recognized as national awards.
