Description
Here is your chance to pick up something truely special. Here is what is known as a Reichs Chancellery tapestry. These are considered as such since a period photo of these surfaced of within the Reichstag itself. Impressive fully hand embroidered detail throughout. Wire detail around the white trimming and in the oak leaves bordering the swastika roundel. Some color bleeding evident around the swastika and on some of the white border as seen in photos. This example is slightly cut down, missing the pole sleeve on the top end and the fringe on the bottom as typically found on these examples. Reinforced corners on the reverse side. This one measures just under 50-1/2″ long and around 47-1/2″ wide. An impressive piece that was likely in a government building during the period. Click HERE to view more images of this item! The National Socialist German Workers’ Party ( Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei , abbreviated NSDAP), was a far-right political party in Germany that was active between 1920 and 1945, that created and supported the ideology of National Socialism. The Nazi Party emerged from the German nationalist, racist and populist Freikorps paramilitary culture, which fought against the communist uprisings in post-World War I Germany. Initially, Nazi political strategy focused on anti-big business, anti-bourgeois, and anti-capitalist rhetoric, although this was later downplayed to gain the support of business leaders, and in the 1930s the party’s main focus shifted to anti-Semitic and anti-Marxist themes. Adolf Hitler, the party’s leader since 1921, was appointed Chancellor of Germany by President Paul von Hindenburg on 30 January 1933. Hitler rapidly established a totalitarian regime known as the Third Reich. After the death of President Hindenburg on 2 August 1934, Hitler merged the offices of party leader, head of state and chief of government in one, taking the title of Führer und Reichskanzler . The NSDAP would control Germany until the end of the war. Free shipping ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD & I don’t charge PayPal fees like some of the other guys!
