Here is your chance to own an impressive Volkssturm Bataillonsführer tunic. To me the insignia seems period applied, and is not a restoration. Volkssturm armband sewn to the left arm. 4 pips on the collar insignia which assigns this tunic as being worn by a Bataillonsführer der Volkssturm. Award loops for 1 badge and an Iron Cross 2nd class ribbon through the button hole. The uniform is clearly period worn and shows honest wear throughout. There are minor stains in a few places but you really have to look to even notice them. The belt, breeches, boots, and helmet are only for display and are not included in the purchase price of this very rare uniform.
The Wehrmacht was the unified armed forces of Nazi Germany from 1935 to 1945. It consisted of the Heer (army), the Kriegsmarine (navy) and the Luftwaffe (air force). The designation “Wehrmacht” replaced the previously used term Reichswehr, and was the manifestation of the Nazi regime’s efforts to rearm Germany to a greater extent than the Treaty of Versailles permitted. During the war about 18 million men served in the Wehrmacht.
